Pontaby Testarossa (Rosa)
(Sorrel carrying dilute. PK deficiency negative and PRA normal)

Rosa is the foundation queen of Abderus Abyssinians. She was kindly entrusted to me by Pontellos, of Pontaby Abyssinians, in November 2005. Her father is UK & IGrCh One Shot From A’far and her mother GrCh Abychat Honeycomb. Her full pedigree can be viewed here.

Rosa did well at shows both as a kitten and young adult, obtaining two CCs in her first two adult shows. Unfortunately, she then decided she didn't like the show bench, and made her feelings very clear!

Despite her age, Rosa still has excellent ticking for a sorrel and is blessed with the most wonderful green eyes. She takes after her father in both looks and personality, is very outgoing and playful and just hates to be left alone. Her favourite games are fetch-the-ball-of-paper and showing the other cats that she may be small but she’s definitely the boss!!

Glendavan Faline (Cleo)
(Fawn. PK deficiency negative and PRA normal)

Cleo is our most recent arrival, coming to us from the home of the Glendavan clan. She has a very interesting pedigree, which can be viewed in full here. Her father is the first GCCF lilac Grand Champion, Glendavan Purple Haze, and her mother is Glendavan Waltzin Matilda. We have wanted a 'dilute' queen for breeding for some time, so when the opportunity to have Cleo came we jumped at the chance. She has a lovely warm fawn colour, is completely free from any undesirable markings and is a good size for her age.

Cleo is a feisty young lady who isn't about to be bossed around by anyone. Timid is the last word you'd use to describe her! Despite her wilful nature she is a very affectionate character, but does have the rather painful habit of nibbling faces (hard) when she gets too carried away. We hope with time she will blossom and produce lots of healthy, friendly kittens with our boy Alfie.

Previous Queens

Blaze is the daughter of Rosa from her third litter to Riverfern Vulcan  (see here). She is a very friendly purr-box who is into everything and everyone. She has done rather well on the show scene and achieved the title of Champion in three straight shows at just under a year old, and a Grand certificate soon after.

Blaze had two litters of kittens and was an excellent mother (see here for more details). After having her second litter in 2011 Blaze became increasingly intolerant of the other cats so we decided that it was in her best interest, and that of the other cats, to have her neutered. She is now enjoying life as a beloved pet. You can view Blaze's pedigree here.

Star is the daughter of Rosa from her second litter (see here) to Riverfern Back In Black. It was always my intention to keep a kitten from this litter to see how it would develop and to take to a few shows. From the day  she was born Star had something about her that set her apart from her siblings. She is a real live-wire, full of energy and perhaps a little bit mad! Her best friend is Dillon the dog, her partner in crime. In December 2009 Star had a litter of kittens and proved to be a wonderful mother, (more details can be found here). Unfortunately, Star had a difficult time birthing and raising her kittens so we decided it was in her best interest to have her neutered.

Flora arrived with us full of energy and mischief in March 2007. She is very gentle and affectionate, and is a complete poser when it comes to having her photo taken. Flora had her only litter of kittens in June 2009. For lots of photos see our Past Litters page here.

Unfortunately, after being neutered Flora was being terribly bullied by the other girls in the house so we made the difficult decision to find her a new home where she could be the only cat. She is now living with friends nearby where she is happy and enjoying being the centre of attention.
